Dogs are welcome

The Pleasure Boat Bar

Our warm and inviting bar area boasts a log fire, which is always alight and welcoming in autumn and winter.

There is plenty of seating and tables for dining or just socialising. The bar is our dog-friendly area - there is always a chew available behind the bar from our doggie loving bar staff!

To the side of the bar is a pool table and darts for traditional pub games.

Beers

We have four real ale pumps, featuring award winning beers, served at optimum temperature from our cellar.

Always on from Woodfordes at Woodbastwick on the Broads, is Wherry, which is a 3.8% former Champion Beer of Britain and Nelson’s Revenge, slightly hoppier and stronger at 4.5%.

Our other permanent ale is Adnam’s Southwold Bitter, brewed just down the coast in Suffolk. This popular ale is 3.7%.

Guest Beers

Tap Room

On the bar we have a guest pump, where we serve either a well known national real ale, such as St. Austell Tribute or Young's Gold, or a local ‘micro brewery’ offering such as Tipples Longshore or Broadland Sunrise from The Humpty Dumpty Brewery at Reedham. We usually choose real ales around the 4.0% mark for this pump, which is always changing and well worth a try for something seasonal and different!

Behind the bar you'll see our "Tap Room" where a further five ales and ciders are available

Here's what one reviewer said of the Pleasure Boat and the guest beer she tried:

This pub is situated next to Hickling Broad. I had a lovely drop of Everards Tiger, 4.5%, and told the manager that it was the best Tiger I had ever tasted ... The Tram Depot in Cambridge has this beer on tap but the Tram serves their beers with sparklers and it detracts from the taste in my opinion ... It was fruity, malty, full of strong hop flavours and full bodied. Delicious.

You'll find us at the Perfect Pint web site where we try to keep them up to date with our current beers.

Ciders

Our draught Ciders are Stowford Press, a Herefordshire medium sweet cider at 4.5% and Symonds Founder’s Reserve, a distinctive premium cider at 5.5% abv which some say "offers a characteristically fresh, crisp, fruity cider, with a high degree of complexity and depth of character".

cidersWe also serve locally produced ciders from Norfolk Trading based at Martham, on the other side of Hickling Broad. We currently stock Haymaker, a dry flat cider at 6.5%, and Weavers Way, again a flat dry cider, but slightly stronger at 7.3%.
